What does a doula do?
A doula provides non-medical physical, emotional, and informational support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I help with comfort measures, answer questions, support your partner, and help you feel calm and confident.
What's the difference between a doula and a midwife?
A midwife is a medical provider who delivers your baby and monitors your health. A doula doesn't do anything medical. My role is to support you emotionally and physically alongside your care team.
Will a doula replace my partner?
Not at all! I support your partner too, showing them ways to help and giving them a chance to rest, eat, or just be present with you.
How much does a doula cost in Spokane?
Birth doulas in the Spokane area typically charge between $800 and $2,500. My Birth Support package is $900, and my Birth to Postpartum Bundle is $1,400. Postpartum support starts at $32 an hour, and virtual support is $350. Payment plans are available.
Do you accept insurance?
I'm working toward accepting Washington Apple Health. Some families also use HSA or FSA funds for doula care, so check with your plan.
Do you support epidurals, hospital births, and cesareans?
Yes. I support every kind of birth: unmedicated or medicated, at home, a birth center, or the hospital, and planned or unplanned cesareans. My goal is for you to feel supported however your birth unfolds.
Do you support families who conceived through IVF or after infertility?
Absolutely, and it's close to my heart. My husband and I have been on our own infertility journey, so I understand how much this pregnancy means and the mix of emotions that can come with it.

What areas do you serve?
Spokane, Spokane Valley, and North Idaho, including Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls. Virtual support is available anywhere.
When should I hire a doula?
Anytime during pregnancy! Many families book in the second trimester, but it's never too late to reach out.
What if you can't make it to my birth?
I work with a trusted backup doula in case of illness or two births at once, and I'll introduce you ahead of time when possible.
What's included in postpartum support?
Newborn care, feeding support, light housekeeping, meal prep, sibling care, and time for you to rest and recover. Overnight support is also available.
